“The legislature improved our charter law by making it more students eligible to go to charter schools; essentially allowing kids who are eligible for free or reduced lunch to enroll and also upping the maximum number of schools that could be in any district.

Mayor Karl Dean welcomed Japanese Consul General Hiroshi Sato’s wife, Yoko, to Nashville and thanked her for the similar Japanese silk ties she gave him, Cherry Blossom Festival Chairman Ed Nelson and her husband.
