“I believe as the city grows you need to be thinking not so much about sprawl but about … taking advantage of things such as the Fair grounds which we own which is right in between two existing commercial corridors which can be ripe for growth: Nolensville Road and 8th Avenue,” the Mayor told Kiwanians at lunch.
Dean said he’d look at a “more concrete thought-out proposal” for May Town but noted development there means changing the interstates and building bridges. The mayor also said “during this recession, there were no businesses being announced that were moving out to Bell’s Bend at the same time they were talking about doing May Town.”
